Layout
Controls the maximum page width of your store, determining how much horizontal space your content uses on large screens.
Where to find it
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize
- Click the Theme settings (gear icon) in the left panel
- Click Layout
Settings
| Setting | What it does | Options / Range | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Page width** | Sets the maximum width of your store's content area | 1400px -- 2000px (in steps of 10px) | 1400px |
Tips / Best practices
- A narrower page width keeps text lines shorter, which is generally easier to read.
- A wider page width can be useful if your store relies on large product images or multi-column layouts.
- On screens smaller than the chosen width, the layout will automatically shrink to fit, so this setting mainly affects how your store looks on desktops and large tablets.
